Problem due to Cracked Heels
- Most poor women in rural India walk bare feet. As a result, they develop cracked
heels due to exposure to dry conditions.
- The cracked heels that are not treated result in deep wound, bleeding and maggot
attack in the heels. The continued painful condition forces these women to shift
their wait while walking and change of posture.
- Thus, resulting in bad back. This is a serious health condition resulting in decreased
mobility and drain the immune system by causing undue stress on the whole system.
Thus, affecting family and community life.
Lanolin
Lanolin cream is mostly comprised of lanolin oil, which is extracted from sheep’s
wool. The oil occurs naturally within the wool and is taken out before the wool
is processed to make clothing and other products.
Most lanolin cream products contain other ingredients, but there are also products
that contain only pure lanolin oil. Its moisturizing properties are highly valued
in a number of skin care treatments because it penetrates deeper into dry skin
Padarakshini – packaged Lilonin cream for Cracked heels
We evolved the solution inform of PADARAKSHINI which is a formulation of lanolin
with natural oils packaged in an easy dispenser tube. Padarakshini is an inexpensive
and simple solution to this colossal problem.
We would be building programs for Padarakshini to be distributed freely amongst
women who have cracked heels. Corporates can absorb it in their rural programs,
Corporate Employees could adopt their native village for distribution of Padarakshini
amongst villagers.
Similarly, we also plan to incorporate Padarakshini amongst our own programmes for
underprivileged.
